Award Show Season has officially begun and we couldn’t be more excited! With one of our favorite award shows, the Golden Globes, airing tonight, we couldn’t help but think of all of thebest dresses we’ve seen on the red carpet over the years. From good to bad to ugly — we’ve seen it all; but there have been so many iconic dresses that we seriously can’t forget about! Which dress was your fave of all time? VOTE.
We have to begin with our all-time favorite Golden Globes dress — Jennifer Aniston’s 2004 blackValentino gown. Jen, 46, still looks the exact same, no matter how many years have passed. She looked stunning in the slinky black gownwhich featured a plunging neckline all the way down to her belly button. Her cleavage was on full display and her body looks more toned and petite than ever before.
Speaking of plunging necklines, we have to give the queen of cleavage some praise. Jennifer Lopez, 46, absolutely killed it in 2009 when she donned a metallic gold Marchesa gown which featured a halter neck, and just two long gold pieces of fabric covering her chest. Other than that, the entire top of the dress showed off skin — her sides were cutout and the dress wascompletely backless — it was unbelievably sexy.
While plunging gowns are definitely super sexy, backless dresses can be just as hot! Taylor Swiftproved just that, when she donned a drop-dead-gorgeous plum Donna Karan gown in 2013. Themermaid style dress was skin tight on her long and lean frame with a giant ruffle hemline. The back of the dress was completely open and a long train completed her look. Taylor, 26, looked so elegant and classy — it was amazing.
We have to take the time to mention the fashionista that started it all. Let’s take a trip all the way back to the year 2000, when Sarah Jessica Parker, 50, was in the prime of her career and life. That year, SJP won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a TV Series Musical or Comedy for her legendary role as Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City. Not only did she take home that award, she also took home the award for best dressed when she killed it in a dazzling Richard Tyler gown.
